Setting up Your Shopsite Store
When you first log-in to your Shopsite back office you will need to get accustomed to the Shopsite interface before you can start adding products and building pages for your new on-line store!

The Shopsite back office is broken down into nine (9) sections:

Pages
Products
Images
Merchandising
Orders
Reports
Commerce Setup
Utilities
and Preferences

Useful Shopsite Back office Tool Tips:

Note that when you hover over the 'top row of icons' in the Shopsite back office a handy tool tip will appear letting you know what section the icon represents. While you are still getting used to the interface this will prove useful in helping you get around.

Building Your Shopsite Store:

Putting together a well-planned Shopsite store can easily be broken down into five steps. Note that I have listed these steps in their recommended order of completion. This starts with the uploading of images and finishes with the assignment of products to their respective pages.

Step #1: Uploading and Managing Images

If you are going to sell products you are going to need to let you customers 'see' what it is they are about to buy. With that said, the first step in building your store is to upload your product images into the Shopsite back office.

Step #2: Adding Products to Your Store:

Once your images are uploaded it is time to start adding products to your online store.

Step #3: Creating More Information Pages:

Note that this step is optional. If you have products that are content rich then you will most likely need to create More Information Pages. Shopsite more information pages give you the opportunity to provide your customers with a Larger Product Image, Ordering Options, Extended Text Descriptions, etc.

Step #4: Creating Store Pages:

Now that your products are ready you will need to create the store pages where they will be found.

Step #5: Assigning Products to Pages:

Now that your products and pages are ready you will need to assign the products to their respective store pages within Shopsite. The following tutorial shows you how to assign products to pages within Shopsite:

This concludes the basics of setting up your on-line store within Shopsite.
