Testing the Shopsite Shopping Cart
Step #1: Logging into Shopsite

Before you can run a test transaction through your Shopsite store you will need to first be logged into its web based interface. Depending on your hosting provider you will have been given access information in order to login. If you do NOT have this information, get it from you host.

Once you have logged into your Shopsite back office you will be presented with a screen just like the one displayed above.

Step #2: Creating a TEST Product

Click on the Products button.

Click the Add a Product button.

Name your test product TEST Product.

Give the product a cost of $1.00

Scroll to till you reach the Shipping and Download Information section of the page.

Check the 'Check here to NOT apply shipping charges on this product' check box. This will ensure that any shipping charges won't be assessed when the product is added to the cart.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Save button.

Step #3: Adding the TEST Product to Your Basket

Click the Merchandising button.

Click the Order Anywhere button.

Select the TEST Product from the list of products.

Click the Show Selected Links button.

Click the Add to Cart link.

You have successfully added a $1.00 Test Product to the basket that won't have any shipping charges associated with it.

Follow the Shopsite shopping cart checkout steps until you get presented with the Thank You page. This will be your queue that everything is working as it should!

This concludes our tutorial on how to run a test transaction in Shopsite.
