I have received a fair number of complaints from clients about how they don't like the 'Please Select Payment Type' drop down menu that loads on the Shopsite Add to Cart shopping cart page. They feel, and I agree with them, that this is a step they don't need their customer to take until they get to the Checkout page of the shopping cart. Shopsite creates this drop down menu when the merchant has opted to accept more than just credit cards through their store, i.e. Checks, Pay Pal. The reason why is because it needs to know what type of payment fields it needs to generate on the Checkout page.

Removing Shopsite's Please Select Payment Type Drop Down
Step #1: Logging into Shopsite

Before you can set Shopsite up so it does not load the Please Choose Payment Type drop down menu you need to first be logged into its web based interface. Depending on your hosting provider you will have been given access information in order to login. If you do NOT have this information, get it from you host.



Once you have logged into your Shopsite back office you will be presented with a screen just like the one displayed above.

Step #2: Setting Your Store Up to Accept Only Credit Cards

Click on the Commerce Setup button.



Click on the Payment button.



Uncheck any of the payment options other than what is found in the Credit Card section of the page.



Step #3: Saving Your Changes

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Save Changes button.
