Shopsite Email Marketing
Shopsite makes it easy for you to keep in touch with your existing customers and let them know of new product and company developments! All of your store's orders are securely stored within Shopsite and can be easily exported into any popular email-marketing tool.

Exporting Client Order Information From Shopsite:

Before you can start working with your page's META Tags within Shopsite you have to first be logged into its web based interface. Depending on your hosting provider you will have been given access information in order to login. If you do NOT have this information, get it from you host.

Once you have logged into your Shopsite back office you will be presented with a screen just like the one displayed above.

Step #1: Accessing Your Orders

Click on the Orders button.

Step #2: Downloading Your Orders

Click on the Download Orders button.

Step #3: Define Your Download Settings

Email marketing tools support the first available option of 'Simple tab-delimited text file format' so leave that selected and make sure that you select your VERSION of Shopsite.

Select the 'Selected fields only' option and click on the Select button.

Select the information you wish to export for your email marketing campaign. Typically you will only need the Customer's Name and Email address.

Once done, click the OK button.

Change the name of the file to what you want within the File Name field.

Click the Proceed button.

Click the Save button.

Select a location on your computer to save the file and click the Save button.

This concludes how to export your client's order information into a format ready for targeted email marketing.

Using Email for Marketing:

Effective email marketing to your existing client base is a wonderful way to continually bring new sales into your company. The key is to put together useful information that is beneficial to your client. This way your 'email' does not get labeled as SPAM and find its way into their Trash Bin.

A lot of companies spend a considerable amount of time and money putting together a monthly newsletter that contains product articles and helpful product information. Personally I feel that if your company is selling a physical product you should be investing your 'email marketing' efforts into letting your customer's know what's NEW on your site and what product changes and sales are available.

Since Spam is a major concern these days it is important that you focus your email marketing on customers and people who have opted into a list through your site. This will ensure that you are targeting a 'warm' audience and help remove the potential risk of being nailed with a fine for spamming!
