Using Email for Marketing:Effective email marketing to your existing client base is a wonderful way to continually bring new sales into your company. The key is to put together useful information that is beneficial to your client. This way your 'email' does not get labeled as SPAM and find its way into their Trash Bin.
A lot of companies spend a considerable amount of time and money putting together a monthly newsletter that contains product articles and helpful product information. Personally I feel that if your company is selling a physical product you should be investing your 'email marketing' efforts into letting your customer's know what's NEW on your site and what product changes and sales are available.
Since Spam is a major concern these days it is important that you focus your email marketing on customers and people who have opted into a list through your site. This will ensure that you are targeting a 'warm' audience and help remove the potential risk of being nailed with a fine for spamming!
