By default when you setup a coupon within the Shopsite shopping cart it automatically assigns it a numerical value. Since your customers will have an easier time remembering a coupon code like "SAVE10" instead of "123587612" it is recommended to set your store's coupons up to use an Alternate Coupon Code.
Shopsite Alternate Coupon Code
Step #1: Logging into Shopsite
Before you can setup a Shopsite coupon to use an Alternate Coupon code you will need to first be logged into its web based interface. Depending on your hosting provider you will have been given access information in order to login. If you do NOT have this information, get it from you host.
Once you have logged into your Shopsite back office you will be presented with a screen just like the one displayed above.
Step #2: Setting Up Shopsite Alternate Coupon Codes
Click on the Merchandising button.
Click on the Coupons button.
Click on the Add a Coupon button.

In the Alternate Code field enter in your 'easy-to-remember' coupon code.

Click the Create Coupon Link.
